Are you a lawyer? At SALCBC pro bono legal clinic, we are always recruiting lawyers to provide summary legal advice.

The clinic would not be possible without our volunteer lawyers, who take time out of their busy schedule to offer pro bono summary advice to help increase access to justice.

Our legal clinic lawyers must be licensed practice member of the BC Law Society, residing anywhere in British Columbia.

The lawyer volunteers complete a minimum of 4 clinics per year based on their personal schedule.
Two days prior to the clinic, lawyers are provided with clinic appointments information for any prep required.
Our legal clinic takes place every Wednesday from 6pm - 8pm (PST).

Currently, we have high demand for family law, immigration, wills/estate, employment law, tenancy, and child protection.

The minimum time commitment is 10 hours per year.
All volunteer lawyers complete a minimum of 4 legal clinics per year, and each clinic runs for two hours.

Call for Directors of SALCBC’s Board
The South Asian Legal Clinic of BC (SALCBC) is currently inviting applications for Directors of our volunteer Board for a one year term starting in June 2025. Serving on our Board is an excellent way to contribute meaningfully to access to justice for the South Asian diaspora in BC.
Our Board is responsible for stewardship of the organization and maintaining its activities and growth. The Board takes on governance activities alongside determining the overall strategic direction of SALCBC.
SALCBC seeks individuals with diverse backgrounds who can offer a variety of skills and experiences. Ideal candidates should bring expertise in one or more of the following areas:
Non-profit governance and Board experience, legal knowledge regarding areas of law that SALCBC engages with, communications, financial literacy, fundraising, accounting, leadership and strategic planning, and advocacy.
We are committed to ensuring that our Board reflects the diverse communities we serve, including but not limited to diversity in gender, age, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion, and professional experiences. We encourage South Asian candidates from all backgrounds to apply.
